Daniel McLoughlin Selover RIP

Lost a good friend just before Thanksgiving. Dan was working on his movie ranch and pushed himself a bit too hard.. Have to say I still really sad to lose such a interesting friend. Dan was a renaissance man... Learned bodywork in his dads shop, worked for Barris, had his own body shop, was a drummer, bought Jim Garner's race team and formed a Porsche racing body business from it, started a prop house and last he was working on a movie ranch. The longer you knew him the more interesting things you found out and I'm sure I only scratched the surface... Thought I'd post a few picture of some of the Porsches Dan designed built the body work for...

Hammer down Dan....

GMC's @ Winfield's

No plan to be in the car show at Gene Winfield's (King of the fadeaway paint ) place but some how Tom got a wild hair to join in...
Tom's '57 Napco Panel GMC, Wes's '56 GMC long bed and my '58 Burb Napco GMC...

Lots of cool stuff but only had the Iphone.. and it looks it...

This was his 3rd Show out at his Rosamond CA shop... Just about every famous customizer that you could think of was there...

Vintage Motor for the '55

Bought this small block 6mo. back.. Originally for the Victress, but it's looking more and more like I may throw it in the '55 with a bit of de-tuning...

Built it 1970 by Don Nowell and tuned by Bruce Crower.. dynoed at something like 600 HP and then stuck in the back of a garage...

Stale!

Man, after the Nikon was stolen I've really let this page go....

Tire & Wheel up close...

New look for the "Five"

Finally got the tires and wheels mounted and on before Christmas ...
Wow.. what a change! Hope the ol' man likes it as much as I do... Sill, I do miss the old Stock Car bulldozer look...

Shoes for Baby

Couple months back I got the "Skinnies & Pie Cutters " from Hurst racing tires, but got held up on the choice of wheels... The original plan was to run vintage magnesium American's or Real Rodder small window Hailbrand's up front and my old 15 x 10 steel wheels in the rear... But plans change.. budget and the amount of work the steelies were going require.. I ended up going with aluminum Americans up front and ET's in the rear ...

To age the Americans down, I sanded and scuff padded the machined ribs off and pained the centers a closer color to the ET's.. As the ET's age I will also scuff and graphite the polished lip to give the wheels a little patina....
